The course is simple!

The annual J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, organised by the Island Sailing Club, is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight, an island situated off the south coast of England. The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.

Dates for 2012:  28 June – 1 July. Race is on the 30th of June.
Prices for 2012:

  • Individual berth – £490 (Thursday to Sunday)
  • Skippered yacht – from £4200 (Thursday to Sunday)

Join us for a weekend of fantastic racing in the world’s most prestigious sailing event. If you have never taken part, you have not lived! We offer a number of packages, starting from individual places to fully skippered yacht ready for hard racing, team building and corporate entertainment. We can, of course, provide any kind of branding required, including hull and sails advertising.

Day Plan of action
28th of June 18:00 onwards – Arrival
29th of June 10:00 onwards – Breakfast, Race training, Lunch, Race training, Dinner, Early night!
30th of June 05:00 onwards – wake up call, start line for around 07:00. RACE!!! Cowes for celebratory dinner.
1st July 10:00 onwards – Breakfast. Sail back to base. Event finishes at 14:00 or earlier if required.

Unless requested, we do not place more than 6 crew on board, which means that everyone gets to race, which is exactly what the weekend is about. You can do as much or as little as you like, of course, but we find that everyone tends to have much more fun if they actually get to be part of the crew, rather than just enjoy the scenery!

You will love it, and so will your clients, guaranteed. Here are some of the photos and feedback from the last RTIR (2011).

…Excellent! Really good fun, I didn’t know anyone when I came and it was fine, we still keep in touch. The racing was just unbelievable, soooo many boats. Starboard tack rules!…

…Thank you for the race, our spinnaker looked fantastic, particularly as we managed to hoist it up ourselves! It’s a great feeling to be working the spinnaker with my company logo on it with all these boats around you. Double the pressure not to screw it up! Thanks for a great day, we loved it…

…Thank you, the training day prior to the race was a very good idea, sorted us out…

…back for Cowes week, no doubt, thanks for a great weekend…
